Practice it in the morning to energise mind and body, before exercise to invigorate, or late afternoon to overcome lethargy. Here’s how:
• Sit cross-legged on a rug or mat with your chest open and back straight. If this feels uncomfortable, sit against a wall and straighten your legs out in front of you.
• Open the lungs with five deep breaths.
• Bring your hands in front of your sternum. Cup each hand and use the tips of your fingers to gently tap this area, first with one hand and then the other for 30-60 seconds.
• Let your fingers automatically continue this rhythmic tapping as you breathe deeply.
